A local guide.
An opinionated, hand-written guide to Tuchoměřice, the airport, and Prague — written for the way our guests actually use them.
Things to do around KindStay and the airport.
Most airport stays assume you'll just sleep and leave. This guide assumes you might have a few hours — or a few days — and tells you what's actually worth them. Forest walks at the door, real Czech lunches a short drive away, outlets a five-minute walk, and the smoothest way into Prague when you have time for the city. Hand-written, hand-tagged, opinionated.
Nature and walks from the front door.
For a weekend escape, a slow morning before a flight, or just a break from the city — the forest, the chapel, and the creek valley are all reachable on foot. Three loops you can do in trainers, no map needed. Distances are round-trip from KindStay.
Centered on the village. Green pins = the forest loop, the chapel above the rooftops, and the chain of ponds 15 minutes by car.
Tuchoměřice forest loop
Marked yellow trail. Pine, beech, a small clearing with benches. The classic morning walk, doable before breakfast.
Saint Wenceslas chapel
The baroque chapel above the village — open most afternoons, with a view back over the rooftops to the airport beyond.
Únětický potok
A wooded creek valley with a quiet trail along the stream — ends at Únětice Brewery if you time it for lunch. One of the prettiest walks in the area.
Přírodní památka Kněživka
A protected natural monument on the western edge of the village — meadows, scattered woodland, and a quiet path away from anything else. Easy to combine with the forest loop.
Historical places & hidden gems.
A 17th-century baroque chapel at the top of the village, castle ruins fifteen minutes by bike, and a hilltop memorial that ended an era. The stories worth knowing — and the quiet places most visitors miss.
A scattering of historic sites and quiet places within a 20-minute drive — château, ruins, memorial, nature park.
Tuchoměřice Château & Church of St. Vitus
A 17th-century baroque church and former Jesuit residence — now home to the Chemin Neuf community — at the top of the village. A short uphill walk from the suite.
Okoř Castle ruins
A hilltop ruin in the Zákolanský creek valley — open daily June–August. A classic bike ride from the village, or a 10-min drive.
Lidice memorial
The village destroyed by the Nazis in 1942 — now a quiet, deeply moving open-air memorial and rose garden. Worth the half-day.
Divoká Šárka nature park
A dramatic rocky valley on Prague's edge — Slavic hillfort remains, an outdoor swimming pool in summer, marked trails year-round.
PP Pazderna
A protected geological outcrop on the forest loop — a small natural monument most guests walk past without knowing. A five-minute detour worth taking.
Únětice village & brewery
A revived 16th-century brewery in a Bohemian village — the brewery still pours its own unpasteurised lager. Combine with the Únětický creek walk for a proper afternoon.
